Three-year math first, because that is how every box gets opened around here: the Hostinger Website Builder ships inside every Hostinger hosting plan, and the cheapest way in — the Premium plan at $2.99 a month on a 48-month term — totals $143.52 prepaid. That one figure buys four full years of hosting, the builder itself, a free domain for year one, and two mailboxes per site. For scale, Wix Core runs $29 a month billed annually, which is $1,044 over three years. Same shelf, different universe.

But a price tag is not an inventory. BundleStack reviews bundled builders the way an auditor counts stock: what is actually in the box, what is quietly not included, and what the label reads once the intro term expires. Two audit notes before moving on. First, some 2026 reviews still cite the older Premium/Business naming with $1.99 and $2.99 intros; the live lineup is Premium, Unlimited, and Cloud Startup, and "Business" is simply the previous label on the ecommerce tier. Second, the renewal gap is real — roughly 3.7x on Premium and 4.3x on Unlimited. The saving grace is timing: a 48-month intro pushes the cliff to year five, by which point you have banked four years at the teaser rate. On this shelf, term length matters more than sticker price.

Bluehost's 36-month Starter lock lands at $143.64, a photo finish, but every other box we have opened costs more over the same period: IONOS Starter runs $408, and the ex-web.com builder now sold by Network Solutions reaches $443.64. Against standalone platforms it is not a contest — Hostinger's four years cost roughly one-seventh of three years of Wix Core. Add $15–20 a year for the domain after year one, a surcharge that applies to every provider on the shelf.

What's inside the editor

Open the box and the builder itself turns out to be the best-reviewed item in the category. The editor is modern and quick, the 400-plus templates look like they were designed this decade, and you get drag-and-drop sections, native blogging, and mobile-responsive output without fiddling. Reviewer consensus consistently ranks it the easiest of the bundled builders, and our read of its documented capabilities agrees: for a brochure site, a portfolio, or a small blog, this does not feel like the free toy that came with the hosting.

The builder also ships AI site-generation and writing tools with per-plan credit allowances — noted for the inventory, and that is all the shelf space they get here. (Hostinger separately sells Horizons, an AI web-app builder running $6.99 to $79.99 a month, which is a different product for a different job.) The honest limitation is depth: customization sits well below what Wix or Squarespace allow, there is no app market, and pixel-level control is not on offer. Manage expectations on depth, though. This is bundled-builder ecommerce: products, payments, orders — the fundamentals, competently boxed. You do not get advanced shipping logic, deep reporting, or an extension ecosystem, and a store that outgrows a modest catalog will eventually want a dedicated platform. But for a small shop, $3.99 a month on intro (renewing at $16.99/mo after the 48 months) is the best ecommerce math in the category, and it is not close.

Not included: an exit

Now the underside of the box. Sites built in the Hostinger Website Builder cannot be exported or migrated to another host. That is not us reading between the lines — Hostinger's own migration documentation lists proprietary-builder sites as non-migratable. If you ever leave, you rebuild from scratch. There is no zip file of your pages, no theme download, no escape hatch of any kind.

Skip Hostinger if any of these lines appear on your requirements sheet: guaranteed portability (that is Bluehost's aisle), deep design control or a template-first portfolio (that is standalone-builder territory, at standalone prices — think $19 to $29 a month), a store you expect to outgrow basic tooling, or a real app ecosystem, which no proprietary bundled builder stocks. And if prepaying four years up front is not in your budget, re-run the math before falling for $2.99 — shorter terms carry noticeably higher intro rates.
